Baby Sparrows

I had such fun today. I was doing some research at the kitchen table
and a Mama sparrow and her babies came to our bird feeder.
They were terribly cute, like this baby who was sleeping in the sun on our railing.

The Mama feeding her baby.

I guess she figured feeding them in a bird feeder was a lot easier than finding seeds in the field.

The babies acted like they weren't sure how to judge distance when they flew,

and would fall asleep, even in the feeder.

These are honeyberries, the prairie-hardy version of blueberries, which we planted in our yard.

They are ripening now. Can anyone find a little duck in the picture?

(I'm hooked on birds. I see them everywhere!)

This weekend Mal performed his first Ordination Service. It was a highlight for us all.

Our lawn is looking good. Now if only we could get the back yard under control...

Church picnic

We were at a church picnic last weekend at a Moravian Camp. Mal spoke in the morning service.

We've started building our fence in the back yard.

Meadow Lake Sk. Camp

Last weekend Mal spoke at a Family Camp at Meadow Lake, Sk. We had a great time.
I love the tall aspen in the area.
I went to the beach and found about 15 butterflies sunning themselves on a sandy bank.
This yellow-bellied sapsucker was just outside our cabin.
I obviously have a fixation with photographing bugs. This was on our hosta at home.
