Crazy Alberta

Yesterday chinook winds brought record-breaking warm temperatures: 22-25 degrees. By evening the winds were chilly and they blew in snow! The upside of it is that today as we drove to Claresholm the mountains looked gorgeous in the early morning light. The weather certainly isn't boring!

Pastor Spouse Retreat

We had a retreat last weekend at a camp situated by the Red Deer River.
The river was in a deep gorge below the camp.

We stayed in an A-frame lodge. Quite unique on the inside.

They have animals for a petting zoo for the Children's Camps. We enjoyed this Billy Goat.

Mom's 80th Birthday

Mom and her 17 children (That's right, 17, no twins, only one set of parents for all, no spouses included!). Debra came from Austria, Ray from New Brunswick, and all the others from Saskatchewan to B.C. There were 96 in all. Aunts, uncles and cousins came from as far east as Ontario.

Mom and her girls.

Mom and her boys.

There were 27 grandchildren who came. Courtney was on her Honeymoon - married 6 days before in a covered bridge in New Brunswick. There were 2 great-grandchildren there. Laura is holding one of the babies.

Trip to B.C.

We started off with snow, but the roads were clear.

Just outside of Golden there were Mountain Sheep on the road. There were about 7 or 8, but I only photographed two. After all, I was driving at the time. The traffic had slowed right down because everyone was stopping to tke pictures.

On the way back the trees were gorgeous.

View through tunnel.

Front Sidewalk

I am very happy with the walk.
In the spring we'll put decorative stones in between the big rocks.

Mal laboring hard.
